Danny Masterson sentenced to 30 years for life in rape case

According to the assistant district attorney, actor Danny Masterson was sentenced to 30 years in prison on Thursday after being convicted of two counts of rape earlier this year in a Los Angeles courtroom. Reinhold Mueller of the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

"combined" sentence for these charges.

 The 'That '70s Show' star, 47, was found guilty in late May on two of three counts of rape and taken into custody following the sentence. The jury was deadlocked on the third count.

After his first arrest in 2020, Masterson pleaded not guilty to raping three women at his home in separate incidents between 2001 and 2003.

Thursday's sentencing stems from the second trial in the case, which began on April 24 and appeared before a jury on May 17. Masterson is represented by defense attorneys Shawn Holley and Philip Cohen. Congressman D.A. Ariel Anson and Deputy District Attorney. Mueller sued the case.

Holley told reporters outside court on Thursday that they plan to appeal his rape conviction. "We are very disappointed with the verdict the judge delivered today," Holley said, reading from a statement. "Mr Masterson did not commit the crimes for which he was convicted and we, along with the best and brightest appellate attorneys in the country, are confident that these convictions will be overturned.
