Crowdbae reported earlier today that President Muhammadu Buhari was mocked by CNN over his continued absence from the country while treating himself in London, in the latest edition of its “The Global Public Square (GPS)”, a foreign affairs show anchored by Fareed Zakaria.
The programme in its Quiz and Trivia segment had asked, “The head of state from which country has not set foot in his homeland in over two months?”. Nigeria was listed among as option C, while Saudi Arabia, Cuba and Syria were on the list.
In a reaction to the CNN's expensive joke which went viral online, the former Special Assistant to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on New Media, Reno Omokri, said President Muhammadu Buhari, who has been to London for over 80-days, has turned Nigeria into a laughing stock.
The fierce critic of the Buhari administration took to his Twitter handle and wrote: “Look at how President Muhammadu Buhari has turned Nigeria into the laughing stock of the world on @CNN ! Look at the challenge question!”
Writing further on Twitter, the former Presidential aide also described Buhari as a hypocrite. “If you don’t believe PMB is a hypocrite, please look at these headlines. Nigeria has learnt the hard way that change is not always progress!,” he added.
